After Damon Arnette threatened to kill someone, the Las Vegas Raiders released him (warning: strong language).

Arnette, 25, was selected by the Raiders as their first round pick in 2020. The 2020 Raiders draft class is not going according to plan. At least, the early rounds of the draft haven't gone according to plan.

Raiders have been through a lot in the past year.

Marc Badain, Ed Villanueva, and Araxie Grant, the former team president, resigned in July. Mark Davis, the team owner, confirmed that the departures were due to "accounting irregularities" following an organization's overpayment of taxes. Davis suggested that the resignations were forced.

In October, Jon Gruden, the former head coach, resigned after racist, antigay, and misogynistic email messages were discovered during an investigation by the NFL into Washington Football Team's workplace culture. These emails were made public by multiple outlets. Gruden had sent the emails via email to Bruce Allen, former president of WFT.

Henry Ruggs III, a second-year wide receiver, was charged last week with multiple felonies in connection to a fatal crash that resulted in the deaths of a woman's dog and her companion. Prosecutors stated that Ruggs drove at 156 mph before the accident and that his blood alcohol was twice the legal limit.

The Raiders are 5-3 on the field, despite the difficult circumstances.

Arnette, 25, was only in 13 games (seven starts), in his two years of service with the team. He has posted 29 tackles, three passes defenced, and zero interceptions.

He is reportedly facing two lawsuits off the field. One for allegedly inflicting injury in a 2020 auto accident and running away, and one for allegedly biting on a valet worker and poking him in his chest.

Since Week 4, he's been on injured reserves with a groin injury.
