Asia-Pacific stocks mostly fall; oil prices jump more than 1%

SINGAPORE Stocks in Asia-Pacific fell in Monday morning trade, as investors reacted to China's trade data over the weekend.
South Korea's Kospi suffered the worst losses of all major markets in the region, with a drop of 1.19%.

Stocks in mainland China were also lower. The Shanghai composite fell 0.1%, while the Shenzhen component dropped 0.231%. The Hang Seng index in Hong Kong fell 0.79%.

Japan's Nikkei225 traded 0.2% lower, while the Topix index was down fractionally. The S&P/ASX 200 also fell 0.17%, putting Australian stocks in negative territory.
