Cincinnati Bearcats barely hold off Alabama Crimson Tide for No. 2 in AP Top 25 college football poll

Cincinnati remained at No. By just four points, No. 2 was beaten by Cincinnati. 3 Alabama in Sunday's college football poll by The Associated Press. Oregon beat Ohio State to climb to No. 5.
Georgia is the unanimous No. For the fifth consecutive week, Georgia is ranked No. 1. After another weekend of close calls and upsets, the Bulldogs' closest rivals are now more compact.

After beating Tulsa 28-20 the Bearcats won 1,440 points. The Crimson Tide received 1,336 after a win against LSU 20-14.

Oklahoma, which held an open date on the weekend, remained at No. 4.

Oregon moved up two places to No. After beating Washington 26-16, Oregon moved up two spots to No. 5. The Ducks beat Ohio State at No. 6. The Ducks took advantage of Michigan State's first loss in the season.

Nebraska was won 26-17 by the Buckeyes. The Ducks ranked as high as No. After beating Ohio State in Week 2 and climbing to No. 3, the Ducks were third in the country, but they had fallen behind the Buckeyes after a loss.

Notre Dame moved up a place to No. 7 and the Spartans fell three places to No. 8 after Purdue's loss.

After their second defeat of a team that was ranked among the top five, the Boilermakers were not ranked. Purdue received the most votes on Sunday.

Michigan remained at No. 9 and Oklahoma State moved one place up to No. 10.

Wake Forest was in the top 10 for only a week. The Demon Deacons fell at North Carolina on Saturday for their first loss of the season.

This past weekend saw seven more ranked teams lose, bringing the total to 68 for the season.

All three of the teams that will be moving into the Top 25 this week are familiar with each other.

After four weeks of being in the Top 25, SMU's second consecutive loss has cost the Mustangs their ranking.

Fresno State is back, one week after it returned at No. 25. Boise State beat the Bulldogs at home.
