Shawn was 43 when he won the title.

Generation Iron reports that Rhoden had a heart attack which sadly ended his life.

Shawn started bodybuilding in the early 1990s as an amateur, and continued to compete over the years. Rhoden became a professional in 2010 and finished 11th at his first Mr. Olympia.

Rhoden was back the next year and made a big jump to finish 3rd...before finally winning in 2018.

He was not without controversy. In 2019, Rhoden was charged with sexually assaulting a Utah female bodybuilder. Rhoden was not convicted of any crime in connection with the alleged incident.

Rhoden last posted to social media three days ago. He wrote what seems like an eerie caption: "Brick by Brick and patience it will take." We'll see you on the other side.

Social media has been flooded with love from the fitness community for the deceased bodybuilder.

Rich Gaspari, a legendary bodybuilder wrote: "I am shocked at the passing of Mr. Olympia @flexatronrhoden It is very sad to hear about his passing. He was always a gentleman towards my family.
