Taika Waititi is making a movie based on Alejandro Jodorowsky’s The Incal comics

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Taika Waititi will co-write and direct The Incal's adaptation. This sci-fi graphic novel by Alejandro Jodorowsky features art by Jean Giraud (better known as Moebius).
Due to the recent release of Dune, Jodorowsky's name has been very popular in Hollywood. Jodorowsky, along with H.R. and Moebius, was known for his bizarre and surreal adaptation of the novel. Giger), but was never able get major studios to take on the idea. Jodorowskys Dune, a documentary about the journey that led to this discovery, has been chronicled.

The Incal is just one of a number of related comics Jodorowsky has written (referred to collectively as the Jodoverse). This could mean that the film will be the beginning of a long-running franchise that Hollywood has sought since the success of Marvel Cinematic Universe.

For so many years, Alejandro Jodorowsky's graphic novels and films have had a profound impact on me and so many others. Waititi stated that I was stunned at the chance to bring Alejandro Jodorowsky's iconic characters to life.
