According to new Met Office data analysis for BBC Panorama, Europe could experience 50C heatwaves each three years if global emission levels continue to rise.
This is a scenario that's called a "medium" emission scenario. The Met Office states that unless the world takes substantial action on climate change, the continent could experience a similar heatwave each year by 2100.
