Christine Brown, star of "Sister Wives", announced that she was quitting her husband Kody Brown.
Kody replied, "Christine's departure is accompanied by a lot of sadness."
Christine became Kody's third spouse after they were married in 1994. They have six children together.
Christine Brown, star of "Sister Wives", announced that she is splitting with Kody Brown after 27 years marriage.
TLC star, TLC Star, Tuesday posted a statement on Instagram saying she and Kody, who are polygamists and have been featured in TLC's "Sister Wives", since 2010, had "grown apart" and that she made the difficult decision to leave.
She said, "We will continue being a strong presence in one another's lives as our children grow up and we support our amazing family."
Christine asked for kindness and grace from her fans as she navigated through this stage in her family's life.
Kody quickly issued an Instagram announcement regarding the news.
He wrote, "Christine's departure is a sad and difficult decision." "We shared many happy years together, and I have a lot of respect for and admiration."
He said, "Even though we are moving on to different paths, we will always be committed parents."
According to Us Weekly, the couple were married in 1994 with Christine becoming Kody’s third wife. They have six children together: Aspyn (26 years), Mykelti (25 years), Paedon (23 years), Gwendlyn (20), Truely (11), and Paedon (23) according to In Touch.
Kody still has three wives, Meri, Janelle and Robyn, but he is legally married only to Robyn.
Robyn and he were legally married in 2014. Kody was able to adopt Robyn’s three children from her previous marriage, Aurora, David, and Breanna. According to Us Weekly, Robyn and Kody also have two biological children: Solomon (known as "Dayton") and Ariella (known as "Dayton")
Kody had to legally divorce Meri, his first wife, in order to marry Robyn. Meri and Meri were still married. Kody and Meri were experiencing difficulties in their relationship at the time of that "Sister Wives" episode.

Meri was caught up in a catfishing scandal and admitted that she considered leaving her family. Meri posted a December Instagram message in which she said that, despite Kody and her struggles, she was HUMAN. I'm here. I am committed. I won't be going anywhere. Do not set your sights on this.
Kody spoke out about Meri and his issues later, telling Us Weekly that Meri was in "a very dark place" and they were trying to "get out of the hole we dug ourselves in."
