Good Omens just entered production for its second season in Merry Olde Scotland. But that's not all there is to the surprising return of Amazon Prime. First picture of Michael Sheen and David Tennant, who play the roles of the angel Aziraphale (and the demon Crowley) respectively, has also been released. The real news is that many of the actors from the first season will return for season 2. They just might be playing new characters.

Amazon Studios has not yet announced who will be reprising their roles, but we know who they are. These are their roles, as well as a description of the actors who played them in season 1.
Michael McKean Witchfinder Sgt. Shadwell is the last member of the Witchfinder Army, at least until he recruits Newton Pulsifer, (Jack Whitehall). He may have divine powers and helps to avoid the apocalypse.
Miranda Richardson Madame Tracy is a medium and neighbor to Shadwell. Aziraphale briefly controlled her during the attempts to end the apocalypse. She and Shadwell had been planning to move in together when we last saw them.
Gloria Obianyo Uriel is a stern archangel that threatens Aziraphale at least a few times.
Nina Sosanya Sister Mary Loquacious was a secretly S atanic nun, who accidentally gave the infant Antichrist to a Young family eleven years ago, believing that another baby would bring the apocalypse. She is now Mary Hodges, a paintball center that has turned the nunnery into Mary Loquacious.
Maggie Service Sister Theresa Garrulous is another sect of satanic nuns.
Reece Shearsmith William Shakespeare. This is self-explanatory. Crowley assisted the playwright when the first productions of Hamlet failed.
Paul Adeyefa Demon No. 1. A demon not important enough to be named.
We don't know who will be reprising their roles. The second season of Good Omens is a completely new story. It is not based on season one by Neil Gaiman or Terry Pratchett. Here's the official plot summary: Aziraphale, Crowley, and the Apocalypse defeated have returned to Earth. Crowley and Aziraphale are returning to normal living in London's Soho, when an unexpected messenger brings up a surprise mystery.

Vague. Common sense would suggest that Madame Tracy and Shadwell are likely to return, and that the archangel Uriel, and former Sister Mary Loquacious, could also make a comeback. Although there is no reason to believe Shakespeare or some other miscellaneous demon will return, who knows? We don't know the date of Good Omens 2nd season premiere, and we don't even know when it will. God's plan is ineffable. It is a surprising feeling to see Crowley and Aziraphale again, and it is incredibly satisfying.
