The latest Oculus Quest update will help to prevent accidental dog punching

Following the announcement of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for Quest 2 at the Metas Connect 2021 conference, the company today announced the latest software updates that will be available on Quest 2 and Quest 2 headsets. Space Sense is the most important addition. This feature alerts you in real time if your VR space is being invaded.
This update is practical and aims to make you and your family safer. Because it appears to them that you are just standing there, or getting excited about something, pets will sometimes come up to you with a VR headset on. Oculus blog posts that Space Sense can detect large pets (sorry small pets) and other objects that may have made their way into your passthrough zone. Oculus says that these objects will be highlighted in the headset and surrounded by a pinkish glow.

This is a wonderful addition. We have to say that this is a great addition.

Oculus software version 34 for Quest platform includes a bunch of new voice commands. If you prefer to use your voice to navigate the interface, this version is for you. Below is the current list. Oculus has also made it possible to view Android app notifications in VR. This feature was first introduced for iOS users in May 2021. It allows you to pipe in your iPhone's notifications from within VR. The feature must be activated within Oculus for Android, and then enabled within the app or in the headsets interface.

Oculus also shared that developers will soon have the ability to publish mixed reality apps and games using its Passthrough API on the Oculus Store as well as the App Lab. The latter is the uncurated fork of Oculus Store that hosts experimental and in-progress titles. Oculus shared more details about it during Connect 2021, as well as its ambitious Presence Platform.
