How to Use iCloud+'s New Security Features

Apple also launched iOS 15, iPadOS 15 and macOS Monterey. Apple has also introduced iCloud+, which is available to all who pay for iCloud storage. This package includes a number of perks that are primarily focused on privacy and security.
Prices start at 99c per month for 50 GB of storage if you don't want to pay extra iCloud storage beyond the 5 GB Apple users get for free. To get 200 GB of storage, you can pay $2.99 per month or $9.99 per month for 2 TB.

You get four additional features with iCloud+ right now. We're going to only go over the most important two. HomeKit Secure Video is video that can be recorded for HomeKit enabled video cameras. Custom Email Domain allows you to use an existing domain name with your iCloud mail.

iCloud Private Relay

Safari is only available for Apple devices. iCloud Private Relay works with iPhones, iPads and Macs. It's still a beta product at the time of writing. However, if you pay monthly to iCloud storage, it can be switched on.

iCloud Private Relay's purpose is to make it harder for others to see what you do online. This could be Apple, the company that provides your internet or even the person behind you at the coffee shop. It adds an additional layer of security and is well worth it.

iCloud Private Relay is enabled so that traffic leaving your device passes through two different internet relays (or nodes) when it leaves. The one run by Apple, the other by a third party partner. This ensures that no one is privy to all information. Although it isn't as extensive as a VPN app or as versatile as the latter, it provides a decent amount of protection for average users.
