Coach Ed Orgeron announced that LSU quarterback Myles Brennan will be entering the transfer portal. Brennan was the team's starter in the 2020 season before suffering several injuries.
Brennan played in the first three games of 2020, but he was forced to stop by Missouri because of a torn stomach muscle. Max Johnson was his opponent for the job of starting pitcher this summer, but Brennan broke his left arm (non-throwing), while on a fishing trip. This required surgery.
Johnson, a sophomore, was Brennan's replacement down the stretch last year and has now started all eight LSU games.
Brennan, who supported Joe Burrow's Heisman Trophy win in 2019, is now in his fifth year as a LSU student. ESPN rated Brennan, a Long Beach, Mississippi native, as the No. 4 pocket passer and No. The 2017 recruiting class ranked Brennan as the 96th overall player. Brennan has 1,712 yards of career passing with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also completed 121 passes.
Brennan's name is not yet listed in the NCAA's Transfer Portal.
