Star Wars Book of Boba Fett Trailer: Into Lucasfilm's Underworld

Boba Fett and his bounty hunting partner are back and they mean business in Star Wars' twisty underworld full of smugglers, scum and smugglers. The first trailer for The Book of Boba Fett has been released by Lucasfilm. It gives us a glimpse of what we can expect from this first major spinoff of Star Wars' slice of Star Wars Universe that was first seen in The Mandalorian season 2 on Disney+.

We might have to wait for Rosario Dawsons Ahsoka Tano (and some old friends) to follow their own paths to spinoff status. But in the present, Boba (the returning Temuera) and Fennec Shand(Ming-Na Wen), have more pressing concerns. The Fett family is back in business and he wants to know everything on Tatooine.

Fennec and Boba were last seen in the post-credits scene for The Mandalorian series twos finale. They then calmly rolled into the abandoned Tatooine palace of Jabba The Hutts. It turned out that it wasn't so abandoned. The Hutts criminal gang were being managed from Bib Fortuna's former Majordomo. Boba was quick to relieve him with a few blasterbolts. He now sits down on the chair, and plans to make his public comeback to Star Wars' criminal society, a wretched hive full of scum, villainy, and sanity. This is a part of the galaxy Lucasfilm has been keen to explore, and he has not only taken over the Hutts business but has also planned to expand it under his own name with a desire for respect and fear.

It remains to be seen how successful Boba Fett and Fennec are, as well as how many targets they have made by making one of Star Wars' most notorious bounty hunters return a known thing. But, we will certainly get more of a taste of it over the next month, when The Book of Boba Fett hits Disney+ on December 29. In the meantime, here's a new poster:
