Inter Milan's Conte left Inter Milan in May by mutual consent, only weeks after he had led the club to its first Serie A title for 11 years.

Tottenham is in talks with Antonio Conte, former Chelsea boss, about his potential appointment as their next manager.

Fabio Paratici, managing director and chairman of the Board of Directors, is moving fast to find a replacement for Nuno Espirito Santato who was fired on Monday after four months.

Conte (52) will have face-to-face discussions later Monday. An announcement could be made as soon as Tuesday.

After winning Serie A, the Italian won Inter Milan in May.

After a disappointing second season, he was dismissed in July 2018.

Former midfielder, he also managed Juventus between 2011-14, winning three Serie A title titles, and was appointed to the Italian national team in 2014-16.

As the club searched for a replacement to Jose Mourinho, Conte spoke to Tottenham on several occasions.

But, it was impossible to reach an agreement at this stage. The club instead chose Nuno after a long and difficult search.

This move proved disastrous and was terminated after only 17 games.

Conte will improve the quality and concentration of training.

Each player will feel that energy rush. If they follow him, it would only benefit their careers and Spurs. He doesn't care if they don’t.

This could be a good opportunity for Harry Kane and Dele Alli because Conte, contrary to popular belief, is a great man manager who is adept at getting players on board with the project.

Conte's most common misconception is that he plays boring, defensive football. This is simply not true.

Conte is a solid, sound defensive player. However, his Juventus and Inter teams played very good football. In all competitions, Inter scored more than 100 goals in two consecutive seasons.

He is very organized, he is a system manager, and he wants things to go his way. It's beautiful when it all works out.

They played a well-organized style of play, and were able to mop the floor with all teams in Serie A.
