Beats today unveiled the Beats Fit Pro wireless earbuds for $199.99. This new product joins the Apple-owned brands lineup alongside the Studio Buds and Powerbeats Pro/Powerbeats earlier in the year. The Fit Pros feature active noise cancellation, IPX4 sweat and water resistance, and up 7 hours of continuous playback (or 30 hrs total listening if you add case recharges).
The wing tips, which are an integral part of the design of the new earbuds, are what is most striking. Beats claims that it spent a lot of time researching and testing with users to find the perfect material and degree of flexibility. The Fit Pros' wing tips will help them stay in your ears, no matter how hard you train.
The Studio Buds had no Apple silicon, but the Fit Pro buds have the H1 chip. They include all the features of the Fit Pro buds, including one-step pairing, automatic syncing across multiple iCloud devices, auto switching among Apple hardware products and more. Beats has also integrated the new skin detect sensor, which was only recently introduced on the third-generation AirPods.
The AirPods Pro's noise cancellation system is almost identical to the AirPods Pro's, so it should be quite effective in quieting outside sounds. The Fit Pro buds can still use Apples Adaptive EQ when transparency mode and ANC are off to optimize audio performance based upon your particular ear shape.
Beats will offer Fit Pro earbuds with four colors: black/white, gray, purple/pink, and gray. They ship November 5th and preorders can be made now. The verdict on the Beats buds is not long. I have been using them for several days and found them to be the most focused, best-designed product the company has made since the Powerbeats Pro.
