Buffalo Bills' Cole Beasley says deactivating his Twitter account was a 'weight lifted'

ORCHARD PARK (N.Y.) -- Cole Beasley, Buffalo Bills wide receiver, said Sunday that he had decided to deactivate Twitter earlier in the month partly because it was good to "get back where I wanted" and that it is a "weight lifted."
Beasley's posts on social media have been a hot topic over the past months. He shared his opinions and had conversations with teammates about COVID-19 vaccines and other issues. After the win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5 and Bills fans noting the change, he deleted his account.

Sunday, Beasley, 32 years old, stated that he will "keep off [Twitter]".

After the Bills' 26-11 victory over the Miami Dolphins, Beasley stated that "when I first got here I got away [from social media] and then things happen." "And the issues we have at hand, I felt like I had to take responsibility for those guys who couldn't.

"But it's great for me to go back to where it was I wanted, and it's not there. The real world exists here, and not there. Many people will say things that you don’t want to hear. It's a significant weight off my shoulders, and I feel that I did the right thing."

His last two tweets included one offering to purchase tickets for away fans after COVID vaccines became mandatory to attend Highmark Stadium games. Another, just days prior to deactivating his account, pointed out that Bills fans were booing him.

Beasley wrote, "Only place I get booed is at my home stadium." "Then, some of the same people ask me to sign autographs and take pictures. Bills fans were my favorite people in the world. They went where? They must be protected from the unvaxxed if the vaccine works. #letemin

When a Bills receiver is catching a pass, Bills fans often shout "Beassssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Beasley spoke Sunday about the crowd, saying that regardless of whether they are cheering or booing, it still felt good to play and that they were loud. It was enjoyable for me regardless of how it went.

In the victory over the Dolphins, the wide receiver had his best year with his 100-plus yard performance. He had a record 10 receptions for 110 yards, which was a team record. The Bills scored 23 points with their offense, which saw eight of these receptions in the second quarter.
