Clemson defeated Florida State in what seemed like a ho-hum 30-20 final score between two noncontenders.

Clemson's last touchdown was on the game's last play, and it changed the fortunes of many gamblers.

Clemson won the touchdown and the game was over.

Don't bet on college football, kids.

Clemson defeated Florida State on the last play to win college football games. This was one of the most absurd endings, and broke the hearts of many gamblers.

On the final play of the game, Florida State was down 24-20. They tried a multi-lateral play from their 33-yard line. They failed to make it work and lost 30 yards. Clemson scored what seemed like an insignificant touchdown.

It wasn't meaningless. People who had placed a wager on Florida State at +9.5 were unable to win what appeared to be a winning bet in ten seconds. The score also increased the total points to 50, meaning that anyone who had placed a wager below 47 points was now a loser.

Ouch.
