Alec Baldwin speaks on the death Halyna Hutchins' first camera interview. He had much to say.

Saturday's appearance by the actor was in response to a swarming of paps who had been following him around Manchester, VT since his fatal accident. His family has been laying low ever since, but they have been being followed all over the place, even on the open road. The Baldwin family pulled over to confront them, Alec said.

Alec confronted them head-on, with Hilaria, his wife, by his side. They spoke out about where they stand without disclosing too much about their investigation.

You can see the video. It appears that the convo was quite tense but friendly. AB demanded to know the paparazzi's requests so they could remove him from his back. They listened to each other. As the investigation into this matter continues, Alec stated that he could not discuss details because of Santa Fe Sheriff's Office orders.

Halyna was his friend and he took her out for dinner when he arrived to film "Rust." Alec described the crew as "well-oiled" and said that the accident was shocking and devastating to him. He also spoke about Halyna’s family, saying that they are shocked and concerned but that he is in contact with them often. The same goes for the authorities.

Alec's interview was a major highlight. He spoke out about what Alec thought should happen to firearms on movie sets in the future. While he supports stricter safety measures and banning real guns/live ammunition altogether, he admits that he's not a pro at this.

It was interesting... Alec asked an open ended question that seemed to reveal his thoughts on consequences. He wanted to know how many bullets and real guns have been used on TV sets in the past few decades, almost without incident. He thinks it's a lot.

Baldwin has spoken only once about the tragedy, but that was via Twitter and not in person.

He issued a statement shortly after the shooting, which he later deleted, saying that he was shocked and saddened by the tragic accident that claimed the life of Halyna HUTCHINS, Halyna's wife, mother, and highly respected colleague. I am fully cooperating with police investigations to determine how this tragedy occurred.

He said, "I am in contact with her husband, offering my support for him and his families." Her husband and their son are in my thoughts and prayers.

Baldwin also retweeted articles that discredit him. He said that he was given a gun and was told it was cold. However, he was acting only as an actor and relied on others to check it.

However, those retweets have since been deleted from his timeline. It seems that the guy believes less is better at this time... especially considering that a criminal investigation in New Mexico is ongoing and no one has been ruled out of being charged.

Alec met Matt, Halyna’s widowed husband and their son shortly after her death. They met at a Santa Fe hotel and Alec embraced them. He was as sad as he looked when he was spotted with his family in New England.

It's obvious that he is very upset about the incident, just like he was on the day of it happening. He was taken making phone calls on a nearby street and tearing his eyes out.

You know how it all happened. Alec was practicing for a scene in church, where he was going to draw his gun for some kind of gunslinging standoff.

He pulled the trigger while whipping out the gun, and it fired a real bullet. It had, for some reason, been inside the gun before they started work again. Halyna and Joel Souza were near Alec, next to the equipment, when they were hit by the bullet. Halyna died after being airlifted to the hospital.

It appears that there were a few slip-ups that led up to this... Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the armorer, apparently not having thoroughly checked the weaponry. David Halls, the AD, was also responsible for pawning it off and declaring it safe.

We also hear that some crew members took the gun from set to practice target shooting and screw around with it. The most important factors are that the gun was real and that live ammunition was being used... and that there were people in the line.

It is almost certain that there will be a wrongful-death lawsuit filed. We imagine others. However, it remains to see who exactly will be named defendants.
