Bowling Green football coach Scot Loeffler ejected for unsportsmanlike penalties

Scot Loeffler (Bowling Green coach) was expelled in the third quarter after calling the plays for the Falcons. He had received two unsportsmanlike penalties from back-to-back drives.

After a rule change in 2016, he was the first to be fired as head coach.

Steve Morrison, Bowling Green's associate coach and linebacker coach, has taken over as the head coach. According to a school spokesperson, Terry Malone, the offensive coordinator and running backs coach has taken over play-calling duties.

Bowling Green was 0-4 in Mid-American Conference and had a 28-23 advantage over Buffalo after Loeffler was ejected.

Bowling Green scored more points in 18 minutes than any other full-game during the past two seasons, after Loeffler was ejected.

Loeffler was penalized in the middle of a defensive effort. The second penalty occurred after a Buffalo touchdown.
