According to police, a Utah man tried to kill his father after he brought home the wrong order of chicken wings.

ABC4 reported that Alika Suliafu (31), is being charged with attempted murder as well as felony discharge. Following the incident, he was taken into custody in Bountiful (Utah), approximately 11 miles north Salt Lake City.

Bountiful Police stated that Suliafu had retrieved a gun and pointed it at his father after an argument over chicken wings.

"When (Suliafu), discovered that the wings he loved were not available, he became upset, and began to argue," the Standard-Examiner stated.

According to police, his father begged for him not to be killed. Then, he ducked when Suliafu pulled the trigger.

According to ABC4, the bullet missed the man and went through a wall into the neighboring apartment. It was then lodged in the dishwasher of the neighbor next door.

Suliafu shot the gun two more times, as his father attempted to wrestle him to the ground. Both bullets hit the ceiling, police stated.

Newsweek reported that the father grabbed the gun and ran from the apartment.

Bountiful Police stated that Suliafu fled when they arrived. However, he was later captured and taken into custody.

According to the Standard-Examiner, he is currently being held at Davis County Jail in Farmington. Because he was defending an assault charge, police requested that he not be released without bail.
