Liverpool 2-2 Brighton & Hove Albion: Reds held after stirring Brighton fightback

Last update on.From section Premier League
Enock Mwepu is now the second Zambian Premier League goal scorer, following Patson Daka's home win against Manchester United (4-2).

Brighton won despite being two goals behind to earn a point and defeat Liverpool in an intense game at Anfield.

After Alisson had denied SollyMarch at the other end, Captain Jordan Henderson put the Reds ahead from 18 yard. This was just moments after Leandro Trossard made a defence-splitting pass.

After a knee injury, Yves Bissouma made his first start since September 19th. His effort was tipped on the post, before Sadio mane led Liverpool to a 2-0 lead with a cross from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Enock Mwepu's Premier League goal was the catalyst for Brighton's recovery. It was a spectacular attempt from 25 yards that deceived Alisson.

Graham Potter's side was impressive, and they equalized when Trossard scored home from an assist by Adam Lallana, a former Liverpool player.

Mohamed Salah and Mane both scored in an entertaining match, but both were disqualified for offside and handball.

After a thrilling final, Brighton believed they had won when Trossard scored in front Of The Kop. However, it was ruled out as offside.

Liverpool's defense is under scrutiny

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side heads into November with an unbeaten record. However, the Liverpool boss will be disappointed with how his side lost a healthy lead and were left holding on to a point.

The Reds held the top spot for long periods as Chelsea, who started Saturday at the summit, was held by Newcastle. However, they scored three quick goals to make it three points clear of Liverpool.

Although the Reds played well forward, they were still vulnerable from the start as Brighton pushed in behind the defense on many occasions.

Klopp will be concerned about the loss of Keita who sustained severe bruising during the Manchester United 5-0 hammering last weekend. Klopp has a busy November against Atletico Madrid in Champions League.

They continue to impress under Potter in Brighton.

They won at empty Anfield last season and enjoyed the full house environment. Nine attempts were made, six of which were successful.

They are making progress and have 16 points after 10 games, six more than they had last season.

Potter will, however, be optimistic that his team can win matches against Newcastle and Aston Villa, as well as Leeds.

It was a touching moment when Lallana, who had spent six years with Liverpool, got to say goodbye. This happened just 15 months after he joined Brighton.

The England midfielder, who was playing at full-time in England's football team, walked up to The Kop to applaud his supporters who then chanted his name.
