Meta, formerly Facebook, may be working on a smartwatch capable of taking photos and videos. Bloomberg published an image of a smartwatch that has rounded corners, similar to the Apple Watch. However, it also features a front-facing camera and a notch. Steve Moser, an app developer, found the image in the company's app that was used to control Ray-Ban Stories AR sunglasses. It suggests that the image could be used to control the watch.
The smartwatch has rounded corners, a camera and appears to have a stainless-steel casing with detachable straps. Moser claims that the code in the app could indicate that the watch is called Milan. This could allow the photos and videos that you have captured to be downloaded onto a smartphone.
Bloomberg reports that Meta hopes to launch a smartwatch in 2022. However, nothing is finalized yet. Facebook's parent company is also working on three different generations of products that will be available at different times. It is not clear whether the device in the photo is one of these, or if it will ever be released. The Verge reported earlier in the year that Facebook is developing a smartwatch that has a front-facing camera and a rear-facing 1080p camera with autofocus. The smartwatch could also have LTE connectivity and a heart rate monitor, but those features could be spread across all three models.
