It is an admirable goal to go to the Moon, but what do you do once you are there? NASA and the private sector want to maximize the lunar surface. To do this, they must study the environment at the next frontier. Leaders from Lockheed Martin, Masten Space, and ispace will discuss their findings at TC Session Space, December 14-15.
It is now possible to safely land on the moon's surface. This was once the exclusive domain of the global superpowers.
Japan's ispace has recently revealed the Hakuto-R Lander. It will launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 in 2022, carrying a number of payloads from Canada, Japan, and the UAE. If the timelines don't shift, which they usually do, then the company will send its own rover on the Moon in 2023. We will also have Takahiro Nakamura, Director and COO, join us to discuss the challenges of going to the Moon as a startup or one that is not part of the U.S.
Masten Space will soon be a prominent presence on the moon's surface. It is being tapped to send a group of eight payloads in late 2022. We check in with CEO Sean Mahoney to see how this mission is progressing. The company also plans to develop a GPS-like system to conduct surface operations on the Moon. Future colonists will be grateful for this.
Lockheed Martin will participate in Artemis in a variety of ways. Some are already underway. Others will be in the future. Lisa Callahan (VP & GM Commercial Civil Space) will return to share how things have changed since last year. There should be plenty of conversation about the news of a new lunar vehicle and lander concept as well as the possibility of a commercial space station.
This is just one of many stellar speakers at TC Sessions Space. Natalya Bailey (Co-founder of Accion Systems and CTO) will be speaking about advances in in-space propulsion systems. Chad Anderson (Space Capital), Jonathan Fentzke(Techstars), Tess Hatch(Bessemer Venture Partners), and Lisa Rich (Xplore), will all have a lot of information about investing in startups in space, starting at the earliest stages and continuing on to the future.
Space 2021 TC Sessions will take place December 14-15. Get your pass today and get to hear from top experts about how lunar samples could be the key to life beyond the stars.
