Sources told ESPN that Zach LaVine, Chicago Bulls All-Star, had an MRI Tuesday. It revealed a left thumb injury which he intends to recover from.
The injury is in his non shooting hand. It had been bothering him since Monday night's 111-108 win against the Toronto Raptors.
After the game, LaVine was taken to the doctor to have his thumb examined. However, the injury is unlikely to get any worse if LaVine plays.
LaVine has performed well so far despite the injury. LaVine leads the Bulls in scoring with 25.5 points per contest while shooting 44% from the 3-point line. This is their first 4-0 start since 1996-1997.
Thursday night, the Bulls will host the New York Knicks at the United Center.
The Athletic first reported LaVine's injury.
