Amit Sinha, chief technological officer and president of operations, research and customer service at Zscaler (a cloud-based information security firm), says that MIT provided me with the opportunity to learn from and work alongside some of the most brilliant people in my career. My friends and colleagues think I'm smarter than me! They also created a fellowship for international graduate students at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science to show their appreciation.
People are the engine of change. Amit says that MIT attracts smart, passionate, and determined people who aren't willing to accept the status quo. MIT allows them to meet other people who have the same insatiable curiosity as they and help solve difficult problems. He says that the graduate fellowship will help remove any financial barriers for international students who are deserving and enable them to pursue their academic and research goals at MIT.
Giving back. Amit claims that he wouldn't have been able attend MIT without the financial assistance he received. He says that he would love to see these young engineers who were supported by the fellowship make a difference in the world. They might even set up fellowships to support future generations.
