David Raya suffered the injury in his Premier League loss to Leicester City.

Brentford says goalkeeper David Raya will miss between four and five months due to a knee injury.

The 26-year old was injured in a collision that he had with Ayoze Perez of Leicester City during Sunday's 2-1 loss to his side.

Raya was the Bees' first choice goalkeeper in their nine Premier League games.

"David has unfortunately suffered an injury to his posterior cruciate ligament, in his left knee," stated Neil Greig of Brentford's medical director.

He said, "Positively this type of injury usually heals very well without the need to have surgery."

David has used a brace designed specifically to assist this process.

According to the club, the Spaniard will be back to full fitness by the end of the season.

Greig said: "We expect the recovery period for injuries like this to range between four and five month, which will allow David to return to his former high levels well in advance of the season."
