The 2019 launch of the Pixel 3a by Google caused a lot of excitement. It seemed like Google was changing its game plan. It became apparent that Google was aiming to dominate the budget market, rather than competing with Apple and Samsung. The Pixel 4a packs a powerful punch, with the same camera as the Pixel 3a or 3 XL. It is easy to hold and familiar for most Android users. Although the specs sheet isn't as high-end as the flagship Pixel 5a, and the battery of the 5a is better, the 4a wins in the refurbished market. Google plans to continue supporting the device through at least 2023. You want something flashier? You might like the OnePlus 7T, or Galaxy S20 FE.

If you are looking to save a little money and still get a flashy device that will turn heads, there is no better choice than OnePlus or Samsung. T-Mobile and OnePlus still sell the OnePlus 7T as a new device, and with good reason. The OnePlus 7T features a sleek design and a gorgeous AMOLED display with a display refresh rate of 90Hz. The glass back is smooth and easy to grip. Although the camera system will not be as robust as the Note 10 or 3a, it will still do the job. OxygenOS, one of the most popular Android skins, is the biggest benefit. The 7T will come with Android 11, but OnePlus has a long history of software updates. Take a look at the OnePlus 5 or 5T.
