CitiBusiness / CitiBusiness / The AAdvantage Platinum Select MasterCard
The CitiBusiness /AAdvantage Platinum Select Mastercard was my most recent card. Its spending on this card is what largely accounted for my first ever lifetime elite status with American Airlines in 2006. Americans miles have been the currency that I've spent the most in over the years. There is no other way to earn miles than through an American-branded credit card and then transfer them to AAdvantage.
My go-to for AAdvantage miles is still Qatar Airways QSuites next year, or Cathay Pacific awards back to Southeast Asia. You can cancel any awards you have booked for this year and get your miles redeposited at no cost. These miles are a great way to plan travel again.
Here are 9 reasons why I think it's a great idea for the CitiBusiness/AAdvantage Platinum Select Mastercard to be purchased:
65,000 bonus miles The initial offer for this card includes 65,000 AAdvantage points and 65,000 bonus miles. This is after you spend $4,000 in the first four months. You can redeem that bonus for two top products worldwide. Once you meet the spending requirements, you'll have 69,000 miles. By the way, 70,000 is the cost to fly from the US to the Mideast or India on Qatar. Qatar's Qsuites may be the most prestigious business class in the entire world. (There is a good argument for the new ANA business-class having this title.
Credit: Qatar Airways Flying business-class from the US to Southeast Asia costs just 70,000 miles. You can also fly with carriers such as Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines and Malaysia Airlines.
Cathay Pacific It's almost like getting Gold status but without the upgrades Golds seldom get. You get the first checked bag on domestic American Airlines flights and preferential boarding. There is no annual fee for the first year. The initial bonus does not include the $99 annual fee. Other benefits such as free checked bags or boarding privileges do not come with the card. First class awards. First class awards are possible with AAdvantage miles.
Qantas First Class does not add to Chase's 5/24 Citibank business card limits. The Qantas First Class cards you have are not reported to your personal credit and do NOT count towards Chase's 5/24 requirements. This card can be obtained without increasing your numerator. You can get both personal and business benefits from Citi and Barclays Miles. But that's not the end of it. Citibank also offers a personal AAdvantage credit card and American partners with Barclays to offer its co-branded credit cards. I've heard flight attendants remind customers that you can get AAdvantage cards at both Citibank and Barclays. These cards can earn the same currency as your miles. American AAdvantage miles are earned faster by no credit cards. United and Delta have bank partners who earn points faster than their co-brands. It is therefore a good idea to transfer your Amex balance to Delta or Chase to United and put your spending on another card. There is no other bank card that earns American AAdvantage points faster than this card. The card earns 2 miles for every dollar spent at American Airlines, telecommunications merchants, and gas stations. Although this is not my preferred card for spending, it offers a better rate and earns the most AAdvantage points. It is easy to get. I have had the card before and was approved easily when I became a cardmember. It has been a great success for readers.
