You can now play Steam PC games on an Xbox with Nvidia’s GeForce Now

Nvidia today unlocked access to GeForce Now streaming on Microsoft Edge, which allows Xbox owners to play Steam PC Games on their consoles. GeForce Now provides access to over 1,000 PC games. Nvidia supports the Edge browser, which is now available on Xbox with a beta update of GeForce Now.
The result is that you can stream PC games directly to your Xbox. This makes the dream of playing PC games on your Xbox more real. For an hour, the GeForce Now base service is free and you can stream PC games such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive or DOTA 2 at 1080p.

Parsec is a remote desktop application that allows you to stream your computer's contents to a browser. I have been able do this before. GeForce Now offers a better solution because it doesn't require you to have a computer capable of running these games. You can simply connect through your browser to the service and launch the games.

This is even more exciting because Edge browser on Xbox supports keyboard and mouse input. You can also play games that don't have gamepad support. The Xbox Edge browser is not ideal right now, as the virtual keyboard only appears when you click. Also, multiplayer games can be slow due to latency.

Phil Spencer, Microsofts Xbox head, recently announced that full PC games will be available for Xbox via the Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud). While we don't know when they will arrive, GeForce Now in your browser is a good alternative.

Nvidia has expanded GeForce Now Edge to Edge, adding an RTX3080 tier and it would be wonderful to have an official Xbox client and a way for these PC games to be played on PlayStation.
