Solskjaer said that it was the most difficult day of his career leading these players. "We weren't good enough as a team and individually. The performance of the whole team was poor.
"I chose the way I approach the game. We were too clinical and gave too much space, and good players score when they have more space."
Solskjaer stated that the result was "miles worse than" the Tottenham Hotspur 6-1 home loss last season. It also comes just one week after the demoralising 4-2 defeat at the King Power Stadium to Leicester City.
The 48-year old signed a new contract this summer and is nearing his third anniversary as United boss. He insists that he is still the right person for the job.
He said, "I've just got the to say that we must get over this as fast as possible." "It is too much, and we have come too far together. We are not ready to give up.

United had Paul Pogba sent to the stands just 15 minutes after he was brought on as a substitute for half-time. They now sit seventh in the table, and will face Tottenham and Manchester City in two league matches.
Captain Harry Maguire later admitted that the result was "embarrassing", before apologizing to his supporters.
He said, "I look at those boys every day in training, and we are working as hard as possible, but at the moment it is not enough." I apologize to the fans. We have to be able to see ourselves as individuals, but also work together.
We apologise for the fans. It was not good enough for this club. We are grateful to them for sticking with us until the end. However, as a club, we can do better.
"We gave them so many opportunities. I am so disappointed." We had many chances, they were so clinical. However, I am a defender, and to concede four goals in the first period at Old Trafford is not good enough.
