The U.S. destination with the highest vaccine rate? Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico leads all U.S. territories and states in Covid-19 vaccination rates.
The CDC data shows that the U.S. territory of the destination has the highest number of Covid-19-vaccinated people as of Oct. 21.

The CDC reported that Puerto Rico reached 73.1% in full vaccination rates on October 1, which is higher than the 66.2% rate in America. In total, more than 2.3 million Puerto Ricans have been fully vaccinated.

The CDC's data tracker shows that Guam is the territory with the highest rate of vaccination at 71.5%. For states, most New England states are neck-and-neck with around 70% vaccine rates. Only Palau, a sovereign country with a Compact with Free Association with the U.S. has a higher rate. Nearly 16,000 people have received the vaccines in this case.

The CDC helped Puerto Rico to create a step-by, step plan that would allow them to achieve high vaccination rates. It included public relations campaigns with politicians, doctors, nurses, and politicians; an organized National Guard distribution network; clear messaging from Puerto Rico’s leaders; and many public service announcements indicating the locations of mass vaccine sites.

The government mandates vaccinations for all college students, concert-goers and restaurant patrons.

All U.S. citizens who travel to Puerto Rico must complete an online Travel Declaration Form. All travelers who have been vaccinated must show their original vaccination card. A copy of the card is not acceptable. Unvaccinated travelers must provide a negative PCR/antigen test no later than 72 hours before arrival.
