Laundrie was an individual of interest in the murder of Gabby Petito.

On October 21, Laundrie's remains was discovered in a Florida nature reserve.

Brian Landrie will not be laid to rest, according to his lawyer. This was reportedly stated by his family days after his remains were found at a Florida nature reserve.

Claudia Kelly-Bazan (a Fox News producer) wrote that Laundrie's family attorney informed her via Twitter that no funeral plans were in place and that Laundrie will be cremated and given his parents.

According to the FBI, the remains of the 23-year old were discovered at the 25,000-acre Carlton Reserve. He was reported missing last month. Roberta and Chris Laundrie, his parents, said that their son left home on September 13 for a hike and never returned.

His fiancee Gabby Petito was reported missing on September 11th by her family. He was the only person of interest in her murder. They had been on a cross country road trip. Laundrie returned home to Florida on September 1 without Petitio.

Petito's remains were discovered on September 19th. An autopsy report revealed that Petito died from strangulation sometime between August 22nd and 29.

Steven Bertolino represents the Laundrie family. He told Natalie Musumeci that Laundrie’s remains were being sent to a forensic anthrologist on Friday. The cause of death is unknown.
