A famed RV maker unveiled its latest over $210,000 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter camper van - see inside the new Jayco Terrain

Jayco's latest camper van has been unveiled: The $210,750 Mercedes Benz Sprinter-based 2022 Terrin.

Jayco has "put a lot of focus on the van segment" over the last few years.

As RV manufacturers continue to struggle with supply chain issues, RV buyers have maintained strong demand.

Jayco, a long-standing RV manufacturer owned by Thor Industries, has unveiled its 2022 Terrain camper van as the demand for RVs continues to be strong.

Since the beginning of COVID-19 tiny homes on wheels were in great demand, and it is not slowing down.

According to data from RV Industry Association, wholesale RV shipments are expected to "reach an unprecedented high" this year while still growing through next year.

Jayco's product manager Ryan Eash told Insider that one particular recreational vehicle has seen the greatest growth in popularity over the past few years.

Eash claims that camper vans "currently have over 10,000 units-a-year market, and has really doubled in the last 18 month."

Jayco, which is not surprising, has felt the pressure to increase its camper van range amid increasing popularity: Eash stated that Jayco "will continue to build our van portfolio so fast as possible."

Eash stated that "we have felt over the last couple of years that it is necessary to put a lot of focus in the van segment," pointing out the "underserved" offgrid four-by-4 market.

Jayco's four-by-four Terrain is built on a 144 inch Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. It tackles this segment.

The van measures just under 20 feet in length and can accommodate two people. It can also seat four.

Eash says the van appeals more to younger people who are more adventurous. It has a "clean and modern look" with the rugged feel one would expect to go off-road.

The front passenger and driver seats can be swiveled to face the interior. This can be combined with the flip-up and two additional reclinable passengers seats to create a small, dining-room-like area.

If you prefer to dine outdoors, an exterior folding table is available as well as an awning with lights that can be used for shaded outdoor lounging.

Just behind the van's two passenger seats is the van's bathroom. The van's bathroom is located just behind the two passenger seats. It has a shower, toilet, removable shelves and a clothing line.

You will find the kitchen directly across from the bathroom. It has everything you need to make a quick meal such as an induction stovetop, a fridge, a sink and pull-out countertops.

The bedroom, like most camper van layouts is located behind the kitchen and bathroom. You'll find a drop-down mattress that can be stored in your ceiling when not in use.

When you live a small life, storage is essential. Terrain's roof racks and under-bed garage are designed to accommodate this need for storage.

The van also has LED lights, an air conditioner and a heating system that regulates the temperature and brightness of the tiny home on wheels.

This is all powered by the lithium battery and inverter, alternator, alternator and solar panels. It can also support the tiny home on wheels when it's off-grid.

Eash stated that while we are building as many RVs as possible, the demand for motorhomes, not only from Jayco but throughout the industry, is much higher than what we can supply.

He said, "We are doing our best but retail demand is still higher than what we can supply."
