Rodrigo's penalty was one 18-shot goal attempt by Leeds against Wolves
Rodrigo fought back to convert an injury time penalty, as Leeds won a draw in their Premier League match with Wolves at Elland Road.
After Hwang Heechan's first-half lead, Wolves appeared to be on their way to a fourth consecutive top-flight victory for the first time since 1972.
Marcelo Bielsa was inspired to introduce Joe Gelhardt, a 19-year-old Leeds resident, just after the hour.
Jose Sa was saved by the former Wigan forward. Leeds then piled up at the end and weaved his way into the box where Nelson Semedo brought him down.
Although Leeds remains in the relegation zone, the result was not without cost. Raphinha had to be carried down the tunnel after being caught on Romain Saiss’ sliding tackle.
Gelhardt saves Leeds
Rodrigo, who had sent Sa in the wrong direction, was delighted to see the corner flag fly.
Leeds was frustrated, as was his entire team.
Kalvin Phillips was greeted with a warm welcome as he returned to his first warm up of the day, after being placed on the bench by Bielsa following a calf strain. This is a sign of how important the England midfielder has been for the West Yorkshire side.
It is no surprise that Leeds has lost the winning edge that won them so many plaudits last year with Patrick Bamford also out of action since September.
Raphinha running 40 yards back into the Leeds half empty, other than Illan Meslier, to retrieve the ball from the Wolves defense was not the right way for the hosts to want him there.
Rodrigo had few chances and until Gelhardt was introduced Rodrigo's best efforts were made by Tyler Roberts and Jack Harrison, who neither threatened the Wolves goal.
Leeds's biggest worry now is Raphinha’s absence for the duration of his absence. However, Phillips should still be available for an important trip to bottom club Norwich next weekend.
Hwang is a loan star for four out of six
Wolves added an option for Hwang to Molineux to purchase into the loan agreement that brought Hwang from RB Leipzig at August's end.
It might be worthwhile to trigger it, given the forward's effect already.
Except for Jimenez, Wolves are struggling to find goals since their return to the top flight in 2018. In November, the Mexican suffered a skull fracture that almost ended his season.
Hwang's latest attempt was not pretty. Hwang was quick to react and managed to score a goal after Jimenez's attempt hit him. Harrison should be questioned after he moved in for a tackle against Semedo at the touchline. The former England Under-21 international international was not going anywhere.
Semedo was able to jump into a dangerous-area because Harrison made an error. Leeds were then always in trouble.
The Wolves seemed content to eat what they had, earning the scorn of their home fans for how many times they were brought down after tackles.
Fans threw objects at the visitors players from behind the Wolves goal, which was defended in the second half. However, Robert Jones didn't seem to be involved.
