Australia beat Japan 32-23 in the final Test to win their fifth consecutive victory before their autumn tour to Europe.

Before Japan's Lomano Lemeki crossed, the Wallabies seized control with early tries by Tom Wright and Jordan Petaia.

Half-time saw visitors leading 17-13. The visitors extended their lead through Taniela Tupu and Rob Leota.

Japan came within four points of Japan's victory with Ryoto Nakamura scoring before Connal McInerney tried to seal victory late.

The Wallabies are now traveling to Europe where they will play Scotland and England, respectively, and Japan takes on Ireland, Portugal, and Scotland.

Australia coach Dave Rennie stated that his team looked "a bit rusty", and added that it was a "fairly frustrating performance."

Wallabies captain Michael Hooper said, "It was really competitive," after his side's 100% win record in six Tests against Japan.

"They tried us in many areas, and it was a close game in the end. They've just been improving each year."
