Bloomberg's Mark Gurman stated in the most recent edition of his Power On newsletter that he does not expect Apple to host another event or make major product announcements. He then turned his attention to next year.
Apple hosted a November 2020 event to unveil its first Macs equipped with the M1 chip. Gurman, however, believes Apple is lacking any other substance that could be launched before 2021.
Gurman predicts that the new MacBook Air will be launched in six to eight months with a completely new design and an Apple M2 chip. Gurman believes that the upcoming model will be the most significant redesign of the MacBook Air since 2010. There was a rumor this week that claimed the new model would have a similar design to the 24-inch iMac's, with off-white bezels around its display and a range of color options.
Gurman expects a larger iMac, with Apple silicon, a brand new iPhone SE and a new iPad Pro, to be launched after the calendar turns 2022.
Apple has unveiled a new 14-inch and 16 inch MacBook Pro models featuring the next-generation M1 Pro, M1 Max chips. The remaining Intel-based Macs in Apple's lineup are the low-end 21.5-inch iMac for education, the 27-inch iMac and the Mac Pro tower.
