Senator Rick Scott has called for the resignation of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, claiming that he lies to Congress about security at the border.
Mayorkas should be fired or resigned according to two former top officials from the Mayorkas department, who were part of both the Obama administration and Trump administrations.
He must resign. He came to lie to us. He claimed that the border was secure. Scott, R. Fla., admitted he lied to The Daily Signal Wednesday, following a briefing by Senator Republicans with border security experts.
Mayorkas stated earlier in the year that the southern frontier is closed. During testimony before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee in September, he reiterated that assertion.
He has data. Scott stated that he didn't give it to them. Scott also said that he told me during my interview that he would enforce law. He isn't enforcing law. He assured me that he would be open and provide the information I requested. He doesnt.
Scott asked for a vote of confidence from those who spoke to the Senate panel on Wednesday. Six of eight people invited to speak on the border raised their hand.
Scott stated, He must resign.

Participants in Wednesday's Senate GOP border forum agreed that a new secretary was needed.
Tom Homan, acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement under the Trump administration, stated that he was initially happy to hear that President Joe Biden had nominated Mayorkas as DHS secretary.
Homan, a career ICE officer, was appointed executive associate director of the agency and worked with Mayorkas at the time, former deputy homeland security secretary.
Homan said that when I first got contacted, and was asked my opinion on his nomination, I thought it was an excellent choice. Why? He has dealt with surges before and is now in the middle of one. We thought he would do the same as his deputy. He has done a complete 180.
Homan does not believe Mayorkas should be removed from the Cabinet.
He should not be forced to resign. He has no dignity, Homan said. He should be fired. He is lying to the American people. He is the secretary of homeland security, who deliberately makes a more secure border to cause more death and more crime.
At a briefing with Republican senators, border policy experts spoke. Ron Johnson, Rob Portman, Ohio, and Rick Scott, Florida, spoke at a briefing with Republican senators. According to the GOP senators, the forum was held because the Democratic Senate majority wouldn't hold a hearing about the border.
Johnson didn't call for the resignation of the secretary, but he said that the Biden administration appeared to be in denial.
This is something that cannot be hidden. Johnson stated that the administration denies this reality to The Daily Signal. They claim that the border is secure. It is not covered by the news media.
There should have been many drones at the bridge in Del Rio [in Texas], so that different news agencies could figure out what was happening. Only one [Fox News Channels] was there. Even the events in Del Rio are just two days of illegal migration right now, as I will say. The problem is even worse.
Portman suggested that Mayorkas shouldn't take all the blame and that he was likely following orders from Biden's administration.
The Daily Signal was told by Mark Morgan, the acting director of Customs and Border Protection under Trump's administration, that lying is not an excuse for working for an administration.
Morgan stated that Morgan was wrong and said that Homan, who is standing beside Trump, meant that no one of them would have done anything in violation of law. 2), lie to the American people.
Morgan is a visiting fellow at The Heritage Foundation for national security policy, where The Daily Signal is the news outlet.
Morgan worked as the Customs and Border Protection director under the Obama administration and was a close friend of Mayorkas (then deputy secretary for DHS). Morgan and Homan both said that they don't recognize Mayorkas as their colleague.
Morgan stated that the fact that he lies to the American people alone should warrant impeachment. He literally said that the border was closed.
