Paul Pogba: Manchester United star designs vegan, gender-neutral boot

Paul Pogba said that the boots combine his love of the game and my passion for fashion.
Veganism is a growing trend in football, with Chris Smalling, defender for Roma, among those who prefer a plant-based lifestyle.

Paul Pogba is now involved in the design of a vegan, gender-neutral, 100% vegan football boot

The Adidas Predator Freak was created by Stella McCartney, a fashion designer and Manchester United midfielder.

Pogba claims that the idea was born out of a conversation he had during lockdown in May 2020 with McCartney.

He said, "It was during lockdown and it was so frustrating that I was missing football so much. It was an amazing feeling to be able focus on something that combines both my love of the game and my passion for style."

"I'm a footballer first and foremost. But I also have a great interest in fashion and design. I've always wanted this to be explored further."

McCartney, who has in the past helped to design Team GB's Paralympic and Olympic kit, said: "Hearing his passion for fashion and learning how much our shared interests really sparked our inspiration for co-creating the iconic boot.

"One thing that stuck with me was his love for fashion, which he expressed in the pitch. It was so important that this shine through in the design."
