Nvidia announced today that it has launched a higher-tier membership to its streaming gaming platform GeForceNOW. This will allow gamers to enjoy better performance.
Nvidia claims that the GeForceNOWRTX3080 membership gives gamers access to the "greatest generational leap in GeForce History", offering the best resolutions, fastest frame rates and low latency. Nvidia claims the new gaming experience is comparable to the most recent game consoles.
GeForce NOW cloud superPODs include more than 1000 GPUs, each of which delivers over 39 petaflops in graphics horsepower. Nvidia claims that each instance delivers 35 teraflops in performance, almost 3 times the speed of an Xbox Series X.
The new membership tier allows games to run at up 1440p on both Macs and Windows, and up to 120 frames per minute.
The GeForce NOW membership RTX 3080 is $99.99 for six-months. This is the introductory price. Priority members and founders of GeForce NOW have early access to preorders. Pre-orders for all gamers will open later in the month. There are very few quantities.
Access to the RTX3080 rigs is $99.99 for six month, which is twice the price of the priority membership at $49.99. The highest-tier plan offers more session allowances and better streaming quality.
GeForce NOW provides several free games but most titles must be paid to be played. GeForce NOW offers the gaming platform but gamers must supply their own games.
