Halo Infinite is getting ray tracing thanks to a Microsoft and AMD partnership

Microsoft selected AMD to be its exclusive PC partner in Halo Infinite. This partnership will open up many marketing opportunities. However, it will also foster a closer engineering relationship with AMD. Microsoft claims that this partnership will increase frame rates in campaign mode and bring ray traceing to the game.
Noah Benesch (product marketing manager at Xbox) says that we look forward to working with AMD to bring Halo Infinite raytracing. Raytracing is a top priority for us after launch. We look forward to sharing more information.

Although it is not clear if Microsoft will no longer use Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling technology, Microsoft has noted that AMD is extremely open to new rendering features and performance improvements across all of our hardware.

Microsoft claims that the AMD partnership has led to significant improvements in frame time performance across all areas of the games campaign mode, including ray tracing.

Engineering has improved Halo Infinite's performance on processors with high thread and core counts. This is an area in which AMD excels with its Ryzen processors. Microsoft and AMD also created a Halo-themed Radeon RX6900 XT. This limited edition card will not be available for sale, but Microsoft and AMD will give away the cards.

To ensure that the game works well, the Halo Infinite Team has been working closely with Discord as well as Razer Chroma and Microsoft. Halo Infinite supports in-game Discord server invitations, Razer Chroma RGB support and unique lighting effects.
