Teslas will drive under the Las Vegas Strip in tunnels

The Boring Company, run by Elon Musk, is expanding its underground tunnels across Las Vegas.
The Clark County Zoning Commission approved Wednesday's plans to expand the underground Las Vegas transit system. However, it is not a subway. The underground highway will run for 29 miles, and it will have 51 stations that connect to the Las Vegas Boulevard and the NFL stadium.

It will be known as the Vegas Loop. Electric Teslas will whisk passengers away from stations at main casinos, hotels, attractions, and other points. According to the commission, 57,000 people will be able to ride through the tunnels each hour.

The current Las Vegas Convention Center Loop (also known as the LVCC Loop), was opened in the middle the pandemic. Three stations are located around the convention center, home to the huge CES tech convention. The tunnel runs 1.7 miles.

The Vegas Loop will eventually connect passengers to the airport. TBC estimates that it will take only five minutes underground to get from the airport into the convention center. The loop system will also allow for fully autonomous Tesla vehicles.

It's just Teslas in the tunnels surrounding the convention center until then.
