According to a press release, former President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he plans to launch TRUTH Social, his own social media platform.

The release stated that the app is now available for pre-order in Apple’s App Store and will be open to invitees in November, as well as to the general public in the first quarter 2022.

TRUTH Social will launch by Trump Media & Technology Group, a newly created company. It aims to merge with Digital World Acquisition Corp. (a special purpose acquisition corporation) and go public.

Trump stated in the statement, "I created TRUTH Social to resist the tyranny by Big Tech."

After months of speculation, Trump announced his plans to establish his own media operations after almost every major social media platform, including YouTube, Twitter and Facebook, suspended or banned him for violating their policies.

Trump stated, "We live in an age where the Taliban have a large presence on Twitter, but your favorite American President is silenced."
