Segway-Ninebots Mecha Kit is the perfect accessory to turn your self-balancing scooter in to a mini mech. The kit is compatible with the Ninebot S and Ninebot S Kids and puts you in the pilot seat of your scooter-turned-turret.
You no longer need to stand to drive once you have the kit fitted to your vehicle. While you are seated, dual joysticks allow you to control your movements and aim at targets with gel beads. It can shoot semi-evaporating bullets, spin, and drift around just like a mech. You can also customize the Mecha Kits RGB lighting and switch on music through the integrated Bluetooth sound system.
Segway claims the bullets are eco-friendly and that they evaporate into powder that leaves no residue. The Mecha Kit includes approximately 60,000 gel bullets. However, it is not clear how to order refills.
To control your vehicle remotely, you can connect the Mecha Kit to the Segway-Ninebot app. Steel frames are designed to resist deformation and can hold passengers up to 220 lbs.
Although the gel bullets may not be appreciated by the commuters you pass every day, it is a great way to have fun with friends and family who own Segways.
Segway-Ninebots has the Mecha Kit for sale at $499.99. The full-priced Mecha Kit will set you back around $1,000 if you purchase it with the Segway Ninebot S and S Kids. You can find all details about the Mecha Kit in the user manual.
Segway isn't the only company to try something new with its vehicles. The company also tried to turn Segways into go-karts in 2018. This Mecha Kit is missing a few jets to get us off the ground.
