Royal Caribbean to sail a world cruise in 2023

Royal Caribbean International has entered the world of world-cruises with a bang. The brand claims that it is the longest sailing of its kind, at 274 days.
The Ultimate World Cruise will depart Dec. 10, 2023 on the Serenade of the Seas. It will visit 65 countries and seven continents. More than 150 destinations will be visited by the ship, including 57 new to Royal Caribbean. The ports include Qaqortoq in Greenland, Casablanca, Morocco, and Shimizu, Japan. The cruise will take passengers to 11 world wonders, including Peru's Machu Picchu in Peru and India's Taj Mahal. The ship will return to Miami on September 10, 2024.

Passengers can book any of the following world cruise segments starting in December:

Round the Horn: Americas and Antarctica Expedition sails between Dec. 10, 2023 and Feb. 11, 2024. It reaches three continents, including Antarctica and 36 destinations before reaching Los Angeles.

Wonders of Asia and the Pacific Expedition runs from February 11th to May 9th 2024 and visits 40 destinations and three continents, including stops in Australia and New Zealand, the South Pacific and China, before ending in Dubai.

The Middle East Treasures and Marvels of the Med Expedition runs from May 9-10, 2024 in Dubai to Barcelona. It visits three continents and 44 countries. It provides access to Petra, Jordan, the Pyramids of Giza, Egypt, and the Temple of Artemis, Ephesus, Turkey.

The final leg of the Ultimate World Cruise is Capitals of Culture. It sails between July 10 and Sept 10, 2024 and makes 40 stops. It departs from the Mediterranean, and travels north to visit Norway, St. Petersburg, Russia, and Morocco before reaching New York.

Bookings for full-world cruises include premium transportation and business-class airfare.

Crown & Anchor Society Platinum members and above will be eligible for a Seven New World Wonders bonus shore excursion package.

Royal's longest cruise was, according to the line, an Explorer of the Seas transpacific journey from Australia to California that took approximately 30 days.
