Jacksonville Jaguars' Dawuane Smoot helps wife deliver baby girl at home

JACKSONVILLE (Fla.) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars' defensive end Dawuane Smoot may have the best hands of any player on the team.
According to a team official, Smoot assisted Aumari in delivering their second child Tuesday morning at their Jacksonville home. Around 4 a.m., they were ready to head to the hospital. The official stated that Aumari fell at ET. Smoot caught Aumari, but she didn't have enough time to reach the hospital in time before the baby was born.

Smoot dialed 911 and was assisted by paramedics to tie the umbilical cord. The couple's daughter, Ahlani Moon Smoot, was born in their living room.

Smoot was unable to attend Tuesday's Jaguars' workouts, but he called the team meeting and shared his story. He was cheered.

Ahmir, a 2-year old son, is also part of the couple.
