Clemson's Dabo Swinney says he doesn't have interest in LSU football coaching opening

Dabo Swinney, Clemson football's coach, stated Tuesday that he has no interest in the LSU coaching position at this time. He joked that he was shocked to be called "a big-time" coach.
Swinney stated, "This is my only concern with Death Valley right now," referring to the stadiums at Clemson or Baton Rouge, both of which are nicknamed "Death Valley".

Since LSU decided to let go of Ed Orgeron after this season, Swinney has been speculated as a candidate to replace him. This was just two years after the LSU national championship.

Swinney stated that "I don’t know the situation with Orgeron at LSU" when Swinney was asked about the pressure to win quickly and consistently. "But I do know that some of the best coaches we've had weren't great early on or maybe there wasn't the consistency." It's hard work.

Rumours of Swinney as Nick Saban's successor at Alabama have been around for a while, but he has never expressed any interest in leaving Clemson where he has been an assistant coach and head coach since 2003.

Clemson is currently 4-2, and has not scored more than 19 against an FBS opponent. Since 2011, the Tigers have won the ACC, made the College Football Playoff each of the last six years, and won at least 10 games every season.

Swinney suggested that "Maybe Clemson people are more appreciative for it now." It's difficult to win.
