NASHVILLE (Tenn.) -- Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan was taken off the field in the second quarter of Monday’s 34-31 win over Buffalo Bills. Caleb Farley, a rookie cornerback, will be out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

Lewan lay on the ground while Mike Vrabel, the head coach, and trainers arrived. Lewan's head seemed to have collided with a Bills defender after a Derrick Henry run in red zone. After examining Lewan, the trainers determined that a cart was necessary.

Lewan gave the team a thumbs up as he was taken from the field. Lewan was being assessed for a concussion. He had movement in his extremities. Vrabel didn't give any updates on Lewan following the game.

After placing right cornerback Kristian Furlton (hamstring), on the injured reserve list hours before Monday's kickoff, the Titans entered the game with 16 players.

Farley made his first start replacing Fulton in the second quarter. He was injured in a collision with Kevin Byard while attempting to tackle Bills receiver Emmanuel Sanders.

An MRI revealed that Farley had suffered an isolated ACL tear in the left knee. There was minimal lateral meniscus damage. This was confirmed by a source who spoke to ESPN's Adam Schefter Tuesday. After surgery, Farley is expected to be available for the start 2022 season.

Farley, who was the Titans' top pick in the 2021 draft, was replaced by Chris Jackson, a second-year defensive back. However, Jackson was still in the lineup Monday night after sustaining a foot injury. The Titans had a third option for right cornerback in veteran reserve Breon Borders.

Cameron Batson was injured on a kickoff return shortly before halftime. Julio Jones, a receiver who made an incredible 43-yard catch, of a ball that bounced off Micah Hyde’s helmet, was also ruled out with a hamstring injury. He had missed the two previous games.

Paul Kuharsky, a reporter for the NFL, was the first to report on Farley's torn ACL.
