Phil Hellmuth, who won his 16th career World Series of Poker bracelet on Sunday in Las Vegas, took home an $84,951 prize in the $1500 no-limit 2-7 lowball draw event.
Hellmuth beat Jake Schwartz head-up to win the victory. Hellmuth won the WSOP's first win since a $5,000 no limit hold'em tournament in 2018. This puts him six wins ahead of Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan and Phil Ivey who each have 10 WSOP trophies.
According to the WSOP it was Hellmuth’s 70th career WSOP appearance at the final table -- also a record -- as well as his fourth deep run since the beginning of the 2021 WSOP in September.
Hellmuth, 57 years old, was also sixth in a $25,000 Horse Tournament, fifth in an Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship, and fourth in the $10,000 Seven-card Stud Championship.
Hellmuth is currently in second place in 2021 WSOP Player Of The Year race, just ahead of Anthony Zinno who won the aforementioned seven card stud championship, and then followed that up with a second 2021 WSOP Bracelet in a recent $1500 HORSE tournament.
