Contraceptive pill may reduce polycystic ovary syndrome diabetes risk

A large study found that women with polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) may be able lower their risk of developing diabetes by using the contraceptive pill.

PCOS is a condition that affects approximately 1 in 10 women. It involves excessive testosterone production by the ovaries. People with PCOS are more likely than others to be overweight or have more hair.

A higher level of insulin is also found in them.
