Apple announces 16-inch MacBook Pro with new M1 Pro and M1 Max processors

Apple's new 16-inch MacBook Pro has been unveiled. It promises a significant upgrade in design and performance. The models will be available next week in space gray and silver, starting at $2,499.
The M1 Pro and M1 Max are compatible with the new Pro. These new 10-core processors from Apple have eight high-performance cores as well as two high-efficiency cores. The M1 Max doubles the Pros GPU cores (32 to 16), doubles the memory bandwidth and 64GB of unified storage (the Pro only has 32GB).

Modernized design has been done to the chassis. It weighs in at 4.7 pounds, is 16.8mm thick, and has a 16.2-inch screen. The Touch Bar has been replaced with physical keys. There is an HDMI port on one side, as well as a Thunderbolt4 port on the other. On the left, there's a Thunderbolt4 port, an SD slot and a headphone socket. According to Apple, it's the most connectivity that we have ever seen in a Mac notebook.

In November 2019, the first MacBook Pro 16 was released. The design was very similar to the previous 15-inch MacBook Pros. It was powered by Intels 9th Gen CPUs, which are now two years old. It received praises for its keyboard and sound quality, as well as its power. However, reviewers complained about the limited Thunderbolt ports that were available on each side.

Apple claims that the new 1080p camera delivers twice as much low-light performance than previous MacBook cameras. Spatial Audio is supported by the new six-speaker sound system. A Liquid Retina XDR LCD display can deliver up to 1,600 nits peak brightness.

The M1 Pro, M1 Max and M1 Max are big shoes to fill. Apple's M1 chip, which powers the MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, iPad Pro and 2021 iMac, has outperformed other offerings in terms of processing power, efficiency and integrated graphics.

Customers have been waiting patiently for Apple's processor workstation machines to be released, including the 16 inch MacBook Pro and a possible successor to the 27" iMac. Many people eagerly await the release of the MacBook Pro, not only to buy for themselves but also to see if the M1 Max will be a major player in the laptop market like its predecessor.
