Introduction: Birthday Hotel Hopping In Paris

My next trip report series will be about our recent trip to Paris. It will include some lounge and flight reviews as well as three hotel reviews. This series will be particularly interesting for luxury hotel lovers.
We went to Paris because of these reasons

Ford turned 30 on Monday, so we decided to spend six nights in Paris to celebrate. Paris is an incredible city, even though it may not be the most exotic. We have both been to Paris many times.

It has been a difficult year. In addition to the pandemic facing everyone, my mom is still fighting cancer. I have moved in with her to spend as much time as possible with her (which has been great!). We don't have a permanent home at the moment because the house we had planned to move into last January is still unfinished.

We settled on Paris after deciding to go to Morocco and Namibia to celebrate Ford's birthday. It's easy to book from the United States and it can be shortened if necessary.

Paris is Ford's favourite city and it's also where we got married. This seemed to be the perfect place to celebrate Ford's birthday. Paris is home to some of the most beautiful hotels and the finest restaurants in the world. That's exactly what we wanted.

We wondered if six days in Paris was too much or if the weather would allow us to have a good time. I am happy to report that six days was the ideal amount of time to visit Paris. (And we would have loved to spend more, but we were so tired of eating amazing food that we just wanted a bowl of water). We also had the best fall weather.

How we flew from Paris to London

We planned our Paris trip last minute, as we mentioned earlier. We flew from Miami and were able to find great award options for both directions.

We flew Lufthansa first-class from Miami to Frankfurt to Paris on the outbound for 100,000 Air Canada Aeroplan Miles per person. I transferred Amex Membership Rewards Points with the 20% bonus promo that we saw in September so the award cost me only 84,000 Membership Rewards point per person.

We flew Air France Business Class from Paris to Miami, earning 55,000 Air France KLM Flying Blue Miles per person. I transferred Amex Membership Rewards Points with the 25% Bonus Promo we saw in September. The award cost me 44,000 Membership Rewards Points per person.

These are amazing award options both in terms the ease of routing and the value we received, given the Amex transfer bonus I took advantage of last September.

Paris: Where did we stay?

Over the years I have reviewed many of Paris' best points hotels, including Prince de Galles and Park Hyatt Paris. We decided to do something different this time and review three of the most luxurious hotels in Paris, none of which can be booked with points. This includes:

The Ritz Paris is Paris' most iconic and famous hotel. This hotel has no affiliation with Ritz-Carlton.

Four Seasons Paris George V. Four Seasons is well-known for its exceptional hotels and Paris is one of their most prestigious properties.

The Cheval Blanc Paris is a brand new hotel. Cheval Blanc is owned LVMH. This boutique hotel group has been a long-time interest of mine and this seemed like a great chance to give it a try.

Paris is undoubtedly the most luxurious city in the world, with so many options for luxury hotels that it is hard to find a city like it. Tokyo may be the only city in this league. We enjoyed the chance to compare the three best hotels in Paris.

Bottom line

Just finished a week-long trip to Paris. I am looking forward to reviewing Lufthansa business class, Lufthansa first and Air France luxury classes, as well as three top Paris hotels. It is true that I love Paris. This trip was no exception.

It was great to get away from the heat in Florida, enjoy some delicious meals, and check out three amazing hotels. I find it difficult to rank them all, considering how exceptional each one is.

Thank you for reading and keep checking back!
